West Shore Blue
Oil 24″ x 48″
This painting is a wide panoramic view of the West Shore of Lake Tahoe. The last yellow and pink light is visible at the horizon as the sky is fading into dark blue with a few darker sweeping clouds. The water almost shows a perfect mirror image of the sky with some gentle waves and slightly darker colors reflected in the water. The beach and rocks near the shore are still visible in the fading light. This painting is very peaceful, and look wonderful in full light or dim lighting. The viewer can imagine themselves standing on the beach watch the sun fade as they look across the water to the distant mountains.
Lady of the Lake
Oil 24″ x 36″
An original painting of Kings Beach, CA on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe. I took the picture that inspired this painting a few years ago when we had large ponds of water on our beach. I love how the colors of the sky reflect in the water, and the dark rocks and beach in the foreground. The viewer is placed right on the beach watching the last rays of white light reflect into the water and glisten. The lady of the lake is the mountain range on the right side of the painting. The mountains look like a lady laying on her stomach, you can see here back, rear, and legs in the mountains.
Walking into the Sunset
Oil 24″ x 36″
An original painting of Kings Beach, CA on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe. I took the picture that inspired this painting a few years ago when we had large ponds of water on our beach. I love painting reflective images in water. I love how the sky and trees reflect in the water in this painting. The real painting is more dramatic then this photo shows, Your attention is immediately draws to the bright white sky directly above the mountains, and you can imagine yourself walking down the beach between the lake and the pond of water towards the last rays of sun light.
View to Sand Harbor
Oil 16″ x 20″
An original painting, painted plein air from Thunderbird beach at Lake Tahoe. The sliver of beach in the distance is Sand Harbor. I captured the clear blue green water of the Tahoe east shore beaches. The beach has the shadow of the old tree behind me, and there is a clear view of the north shore mountains because the air was crisp and clear that day. The painting is a signed original. This is painted on 5/8 inch canvas with a wood frame painted walnut brown with hanging hardware.
McConkeys, Squaw Valley
Oil 24″ x 18″
This is an original Oil Painting of McConkeys at Squaw Valley Ski Resort. This is one of the steepest ski runs at Squaw Valley and was renamed after the famous Squaw Valley Skier. This painting is based on the Mountain/ski run during the 2016/17 ski season. I liked the view of the Mountain when the rocks on the right side of the painting were visible. At first viewing, you may not see the small skier, in red, in the middle of the Mountain dropping off a ridge line. The sky and clouds have mostly smooth with visible brush strokes in the clouds. There is medium texture in the rocks, and high texture in the snow on the mountain. The white highlights in the snow are extra textured. I just completed this painting. It will be framed in a black frame when it has finished drying.
Quarter Moon
Oil 16″ x 20″
An original painting based on a sunset I saw from the Sand Harbor (east shore area) of Lake Tahoe towards the west shore. The yellow behind the mountains seems to glow against the darker colors of the sky and reflects into the water. There was just a sliver of a moon and Jupiter showing in the sky along with a long wispy cloud glowing pink in the sky. The brush strokes are clearly visible in the water showing the movement in the water. This larger version of my original Quarter Moon has more depth because of the way I painted the water with wave sizes and the lighter colored mountains. The painting is a signed original. This is painted on a panel with a deep black frame (shown) with hanging hardware.
Monterey Seaside
Oil 12″ x 9″
An Original Plein Air Oil Painting of the Monterey Bay Seaside just a few blocks from the Monterey Bay Aquarium. While visiting family in the Bay Area, I was able to do this painting in Monterey. I loved the green that would show through around the rocks between waves, and I picked this spot because I liked the view down the coast line towards the Aquarium. This painting will be framed in a black frame when it dries.
Quarter Moon (smaller version w/ back mountains)
Oil 9″ x 12″
An original painting based on a sunset I saw from the east shore of Lake Tahoe. The yellow behind the mountains seems to glow against the darker colors of the sky and mountains. There was just a sliver of a moon and Jupiter showing in the sky along with a long wispy cloud glowing pink in the sky. The brush strokes are clearly visible in the water showing the movement in the water. The painting is a signed original. This is painted on a panel with a deep black frame with hanging hardware.
The Road Home
Oil 10″ x 20″
An original painting based on a sunset I saw while driving back from a small desert town towards Carson, NV (on Hwy 50) after my daughter won a volleyball tournament. The road feel like it pulls you into the painting and leads you home, just on the other side of the rolling hills. The yellow from the setting sun gradually transition to the blue sky which has a sliver of a moon and a couple stars showing. The painting is a signed original. This is painted on a canvas panel with a black frame with hanging hardware.
Last Light
Oil 9″ x 12″
An original painting based on a sunset from the fire lookout above Kings Beach looking toward Tahoe City. The outline of the trees was barely visible in the low light, but the sun was still reflecting in the water as night approached. The sky transitioned from the orange and yellows behind the mountains to the deep blues of the darkening sky. The painting is a signed original. This is painted on a panel with a black frame with hanging hardware.
Lookout View
Oil 12″ x 12″ SOLD
An original painting, painted plein air from the Hwy 431 lookout above Incline Village looking down the east shore of Lake Tahoe. I can repaint this painting in a size you desire if you like it.
Sky on Fire
Oil 16″ x 20″
An original painting based on a sunset at Lake Tahoe. The Sky is looming with dark clouds and the setting sun turned the sky red, and reflected into the still water that day. The rocks look very peaceful in the still water. The painting is a signed original. This is painted on a 3/4 inch deep canvas framed in a wide black frame with hanging hardware.
Lady of the Lake
Oil 11″ x 14″ SOLD
Cloud Reflection
Oil 11″ x 14″
An original painting based on a sunset at Kings Beach I experienced. The clouds just started breaking up in the light breeze as I caught sight of the perfect reflection in a large puddle by the water’s edge. The painting is a signed original. This is painted on a canvas panel with a black frame with hanging hardware.
Reflection
Oil 10″ x 20″ SOLD
East Shore Rocks
Oil 8″ x 10″
An original painting, painted plein air from Thunderbird beach at Lake Tahoe. I captured the clear blue and green water of the Tahoe east shore beaches. The closer rocks have warmer tones while the farther rock have a gray granite tone. The painting has quite a bit of texture in the rocks and shadows that bring the painting to life. The painting is a signed original. This is painted on a panel and framed in a deep back frame with hanging hardware.
Walking into the Sunset
Oil 8″ x 10″
An original painting based on a sunset at Kings Beach I experienced. The clouds turned dark purple in the fading light, but ripples of red appeared in the clouds. I felt like I was walking into the last white glow of the sun light as I walked on the beach between Lake Tahoe and a large puddle which both reflected the last rays of the setting sun in varying shaded or orange. The painting is a signed original. This is painted on a canvas panel with a wood table frame.
Heart of the Lake
Oil 18″ x 24″
An original painting created from various Lake Tahoe sunsets. The clouds take on the feel of an orange red heart reflecting into the dark lake. The rocks and water ripples create a depth in the water. The water is painted with multiple layers of oils to create a dark transparent glow in the water that is a perfect balance to the bright motion in the sky. The painting is a signed original. This is painted on a 3/4 inch canvas with a wide dark wood frame with hanging hardware.
View to Tallac
Oil 12″ x 16″
An original painting, painted plein air from an east shore beach at Lake Tahoe. The tallest mountain in the distance is Mount Tallac. I captured the shimmer of green in the water against the dark rocks in the foreground. There was also a lot of motion in the clouds that day too. The painting is a signed original. This is painted on a 1 1/2 inch deep canvas with hanging hardware. The sides of the canvas are painted so the image wraps around the canvas edges (a free black wood frame is available if desired) with hanging hardware.
City Reflection
Oil 12″ x 16″
An original painting based on a reflected image from downtown Oakland. The imperfect reflection skewed the image of the sky, light post, and building. The clouds appear to be moving in unexpected directions. The painting is a signed original. This is painted on a canvas panel with a black wood frame with hanging hardware.
